Just a quick post with a cake I made for my cousin’s girlfriend’s 29th birthday.  The elegance was in its simplicity.  The hardest thing was the carving of the top tier but even that was simple.  I’ve attached my design sketch because getting the proportions right is critical to achieving the realistic look.

The most popular filling was the passion fruit Italian meringue buttercream.  I have to say getting my hands on some passion fruit was quite a challenge.  The place to go is a Latin supermarket like Bravo.  My personal favorite was the dulce de leche frosting that
